DROWNED ECHO
Drowned Echo is a narrative-driven virtual reality horror experience where you play as Sam Delaney, a rookie underwater archaeologist descending into the depths to investigate the mysterious wreck of the St. Tillinghast, a ship lost over a century ago. What begins as a scientific exploration soon becomes a fight for sanity and survival as you discover something unnatural remains trapped within the ship's ruins. Explore corroded corridors, unravel the story of the missing crew, and confront a presence that defies logic and reality. Are you ready to uncover what was never meant to be revealed?

History
More than 100 years ago, a biological research vessel called the St. Tillinghast vanished without a trace in a remote part of the ocean, near coordinates marked by anomalous magnetic readings. Its mission was to study a strange underwater formation that seemed to alter the environment... and the minds of those who approached it.

The last transmission was garbled, almost impossible to understand, a broken signal filled with fear. Chaotic voices overlapped with bursts of static, fragments of warnings cutting through the noise. Some swore they heard desperate cries, others only madness echoing from the deep. And then—absolute silence. The St. Tillinghast was never heard from again.
Today, after more than a century, a new team has finally located the wreck of the St. Tillinghast. You are part of the expedition chosen to descend into its forgotten corridors and explore its remains.
But as you venture deeper, the silence hides more than rust and shadows lingering in the dark. Because something is still down there—something that was never meant to be awakened.

The Diver | The Player Character
Sam Delaney is the player’s eyes and voice in Drowned Echo—a rookie underwater archaeologist joining his first major mission. Chosen for his technical skill and sharp instinct, Sam represents both curiosity and vulnerability.
He isn’t a soldier or a savior. He’s an explorer, driven by the need to uncover the truth buried with the St. Tillinghast. As the player guides him deeper into the wreck, Sam will witness awe, terror, and the slow unraveling of reason itself.
His relationships with the crew, his choices, and his mental endurance will shape the narrative. When the world begins to twist and fracture, Sam must decide whether to cling to what’s real—or descend into the echo.
Elias Mercer is the commanding officer of the RV Armitage, a former naval officer turned expedition leader. With decades of experience navigating treacherous waters and leading deep-sea operations, Mercer is a symbol of discipline, survival, and duty.
He carries the weight of past failures beneath his composed demeanor—failures he refuses to repeat. Stern yet protective, Mercer is respected by his crew, but not easily understood. He’s the kind of man who will do what needs to be done, no matter the cost.
As the expedition plunges into the unknown, Mercer becomes both a source of stability and growing tension. What exactly does he know about the wreck of the St. Tillinghast—and what is he not telling?

Deep-Sea Biologist & Anomaly Specialist
Dr. Adrienne Voss is far from an ordinary scientist. Renowned for her pioneering research on extreme ecosystems, she has devoted her life to uncovering lifeforms that challenge logic—and perhaps even reality itself.
It was Voss who first detected the abnormal patterns surrounding the resting place of the St. Tillinghast and persuaded the funding foundation that something extraordinary lay hidden in the abyss. For her, this mission transcends science—it is destiny.
Elegant, unflinching, and unnervingly composed under pressure, Voss communicates with clinical precision. As unnatural events begin to surface, she emerges as a haunting presence between discovery and delusion, pushing the boundaries of ethics in the relentless pursuit of knowledge.
